Stu Butler

Executive Director/CEO

 

Stu is Haven of Rest’s Executive Director. Stu joined the Haven of Rest Ministries in 2014 as the Chief Operations Officer and on January 01, 2016 assumed the role of Executive Director/CEO. A clear call from God and many confirmations along the way led him to serve here. He is passionate about serving God by serving others in this life-transforming ministry. “My faith in Jesus Christ is the most important element of my life, family and work. I came to Christ in April 1982. That wonderful day of salvation was preceded by many trials and tribulations. However; God’s grace is amazing and unfailing.” Stu has a passion for organization, efficiency, and excellent stewardship of resources. One of his favorite Bible verses is “Whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not to men.” (Colossians 3:23) Prior to the Haven, he served as Director of a Christian Retreat Center, on the mission field, in the local church, and in various business administration roles. Stu and his wife Liz have been happily married since 1989 and have two wonderful daughters.

Katie Jaynes

Communications Director

Katie Jaynes is the Communications Director of Haven of Rest. Katie manages the brand by delivering consistent and cohesive messaging and designs. She is a proud graduate of Anderson University, with a background in Graphic Design and Marketing. Katie is from Columbia, SC, but has a special place in her heart for the city of Anderson after spending her college years here. She is certain that God has called her to create structure and order with her design, marketing, and communication skills, while influencing the world for His glory.

Nan Stephens

Accounts Manager

Nan began her journey at the Haven of Rest Ministries in the late 1990's as a part time, seasonal employee. She now serves full time as the accounts manager. Nan is serving at the Haven because she believes this is where the Lord has called her. She believes this became available to her to be able make more of a difference in the lives of others as well as in her own life. Nan is a proud mother of two daughters and one son and several beautiful grandchildren.

 

Sid Stewart

Director Emeritus

Sid Stewart works in the area of donor relations. Sid served as the Executive Director of the Haven from 1998-2015. In addition to his service to the Lord as Executive Director he is a lifelong resident of Anderson County and has many valuable relationships and contacts. In his role as Director Emeritus he enjoys sharing the Haven mission and story with donors and prospective donors. The Haven could not fulfill its mission without the generous support of our many donors. In addition, he enjoys teaching Bible classes to our clients and spending time mentoring and discipling them.


Wes Bramlett

Mission Assistant Director

Wes Bramlett is the Mission Assistant Director. Wes is happily married to his wife Jill and has 4 kids. He is from Anderson, SC. He is thankful for The Haven because it helped him to realize that his true haven is Christ, and that's where he finds rest. Without the Haven's impact and showing him real truth and light, he doesn't know where he would be today. "If you ever get over what Jesus Christ did for you, something's wrong. For me, it never gets old." In Psalm 17-18 David states "I have found the enemy". Wes says that before Jesus got his attention, he was his worst own enemy. Now Jesus guides his thoughts and actions, and now he is dead to sin and alive in Christ. Since coming to The Haven in a position of leadership, his life-verse is Psalm 78:72 – "And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them."

 

Phil Minnie

Food Service Director

Phil brings years of excellent experience to us in foodservice and ministry. He has experience in fast food, school cafeteria management & operations, and much more. He also has experience in pastoring churches. Food Service is a vital area of service for our ministry and Phil brings the talent, passion, and experience necessary for this important role.

Eddie Capps

Men's Training Center Director

Eddie is the Men’s Training Center Director. He was born in Easley and received an AS Degree from Anderson University, a BS Degree from Clemson University, and a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Theological Seminary. Eddie is married to Jane Zeigler Capps and they have a daughter and a son. A heart for discipleship describes Eddie's desire to work with the Haven of Rest. His life has been molded by men who have taken the Great Commission seriously. A brother-in-law, youth minister, and friend shaped Eddie as they walked before him in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Today, Eddie wants to walk with this same kind of contagious Christianity.

 

Gene Christian

Men's Training Center Assistant Director

Gene Christian is an assistant director at the Men's Training Center. He has been married to his wonderful wife Susan for 26 years. They have four incredible children. God has taken their family through some amazing and wonderful experiences. They have seen God take what was broken and discarded and restore it to new changing and rebuilding lives for His purpose. He believes it is evident that God is at work at the Haven of Rest!

David Rainey

Men's Training Center Assistant Director

David Rainey is assistant director of the Men's Training Center. He is husband to Dorothy Rainey and father to his wonderful children. David is also a Licensed Minister. He graduated with a BA from Liberty Bible College and Seminary. David has been employed at Haven of Rest since 2007.

 


Julie Dykes

Women's Ministry Phase 1 House Manager

Julie Dykes is the Women's Ministry Phase 1 House Manager and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry from Anderson University. Julie also works with the praise band and children of Harris Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. As a widow and mother of two, Davis and Madison, she serves as a speaker/singer for women’s grief groups as part of a speaking circuit. Julie fervently desires to see God’s glory revealed in the lives of those who need hope and restoration. She is grateful to be part of this ministry.

Brian Chastain

Thrift Operations Director

Brian Chastain has been employed by the Haven of Rest for many years. He is now the Thrift Operations Director. Brian resides over our thrift stores and appliance store. He assists in day to day needs and operations for all thrift locations. If there is a problem, Brian can likely fix it! Brian is married to Ashley. They are the proud parents of their beautiful daughter, Madison.

Marissa Hughey

Development Coordinator

Marissa Hughey is the Development Coordinator of Haven of Rest. She is a 2016 graduate of Anderson University, where she studied Business-Marketing, Management, and Human Resources. Marissa interacts and connects with our wonderful partners and donors, and plays a huge part in the planning and execution of Haven of Rest events. Her obvious love of people and passion for organization is a blessing to our ministry.
