How can you help this summer?
During the hot, Summer months, Haven of Rest wants to make sure our 90 clients stay hydrated, cool, and healthy! We want to provide bottled water as a healthy choice instead of soda. In addition, we have a new fitness initiative for clients as part of the process to equip them for a better future.
We received a grant from The Abney Foundation to purchase treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, and free weights to encourage the men and women in our care to become healthy on their journey to Biblical healing and restoration. This means physically, in addition to spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and socially.
The only problem with more active clients and needing more bottled water is that watercan be expensive for 90 people a day! If each client were to drink 4 bottles of water, it comes out to about 360 bottles of water used each day.
If you or someone you know is interested, you can collect cases of bottled water water and drop them off at Haven’s Rescue Mission at 219 W. Whitner St. Anderson, SC 29624.
Summer is also a time where our supply of canned goods and non-perishables becomes low. We are always in need of canned goods, peanut butter, coffee and other items listed on the right.
