As a baby my mother wanted to have me aborted but God had other plans for my life.  I grew up in foster homes and for the most part was Christian homes which exposed my to Jesus Christ.  As a teenage boy, I was exposed to drugs and crime and after living on the streets got in trouble with the authorities.  One day while in prison, I realized I had to do something concerning my life and gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ.  After a time in prison I had nowhere to go and no one to turn to and came to the Haven of Rest.  After a period of time there I was admitted to the MTC program where God really began to work in my life.  Since being at MTC, I have developed a hunger for the Word of God and am seeking to get into Bible College and continue to walk in God’s will for my life.  I thank Him for His Grace and for the Haven of Rest Ministries.

To Whom It May Concern

The last "To Whom It May Concern" letter I wrote was a suicide note, but this one is to share what God has done in my life since then.  The last 13 years of my life I have been heavily addicted to drugs.  After I realized I had a problem I tried to fix it on my own.  After entering two secular programs and depending of AA to keep me clean I realized I needed a savior.  On 6/28/04 someone told me about this man called Jesus, and how He could save me and that I never had to live this way again.  I gave my life to Christ that night and my life has never been the same.

After completing a program at Home With a Heart, I still had a strong desire to know more about the Bible and God.  So I came to TLC and I've got exactly what I've come for.  I don't know of any other program with a more intense bible study than this.  This program didn't teach me to depend on the program to keep me clean, but to depend on Christ. 

The most important thing I've learned at MTC is "It's not what I do that determines who I am, but who I am that determines what I do."

I started drinking casually when I was 16.  I began to smoke marijuana at 19.  I have been through so many different types of wrecks and accidents it is a wonder I am still alive.  My drinking had gotten so bad I drank when I got up in the morning.  That is when I knew I was an alcoholic.

Jesus Christ, through MTC, has changed that now.  With the help of Jesus and MTC I can claim victory over bondage and life dominating addictions.
