The Men's Training Center (MTC) is located in a rural farm setting outside Belton
SC. The finances for this 49-acre facility were donated to the Haven of Rest
ministries of Anderson SC, by the family of Roscoe Moorhead in the early 1960's.
The board of Haven of Rest voted to establish a long term program for the
purpose of helping needy men deal with life controlling problems such as
addictions to drugs and alcoholism.
MTC is a vital part of the ministries of Haven of Rest.
it works jointly with the Haven's mission, Women's program, and Thrift stores, as well as other organizations
seeking the recovery of these men. Men are transferred from the missions program
to the Transition program and then to the 1-year program. In addition, men come from
local churches, other rehabilitation centers, and by word of mouth. men who are
about ready to graduate from MTC are eligible to join our work training and job
placement program to help integrate them back into society.
