It is reported that a great majority of us have charitable
objectives and donative intent, and do in fact contribute generously every
year to our communities' charities.
However, to leave a lasting legacy as a final expression
of our support for those charitable institutions, we must plan to do so
during our lifetimes and provide for them in our wills. No state
laws provide for shares of our estates to pass to charities if we leave no
will or make no charitable gifts in our wills.
In additional to current, outright gifts to Haven Of Rest, Inc., donors
may elect to make planned gifts as part of their personal financial and
estate planning. Planned gifts, sometimes referred to as deferred gifts,
typically meet tax and investment planning needs of donors while providing
a future (deferred) gift to help assure the long-term support of the
Mission's programs and services for homeless and addicted individuals.
The most common planned gifts are
Charitable Bequests,
Charitable Gift Annuities and
Charitable Remainder Trusts.
